Terms of Service
Last updated: August 10, 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of AstroAsk — the astrology calculation API available at api.astroask.app, the astroask.app website, documentation, dashboard, and related services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, generating an API key, or making a request to the API, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a company or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity, and “you” refers to that entity.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
AstroAsk provides programmatic astrology calculations — including Vedic and Western charts, panchanga, doshas, compatibility, and related computations — delivered as a JSON API over HTTPS. The Service is sold as monthly subscription plans with defined request quotas and rate limits, plus a time-limited free trial. Plan details, pricing, and quotas are described on our pricing page and may be updated from time to time.
3. Accounts and API keys
You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and API keys. API keys authenticate requests billed to your account: treat them as secrets, do not commit them to public repositories, and do not share them with third parties. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your keys, whether or not authorized by you. If you believe a key has been compromised, rotate it from your dashboard or contact us immediately at intelligence@astroask.app.
4. Acceptable use
Using the Service, you agree that you will not:
- resell, sublicense, or redistribute raw API access or your API keys — you may build products and services on top of the API, but you may not offer the API itself (or a thin wrapper around it) as a competing service;
- circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits, request quotas, or other technical restrictions, including by distributing traffic across multiple accounts or keys;
- register more than one free trial per person or entity, or create accounts by automated means;
- probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, or interfere with its operation or with other customers’ use of it;
- use the Service in violation of applicable law, or to process data you do not have the right to process.
We may suspend or throttle access that we reasonably believe violates this section while we investigate.
5. Astrological content disclaimer
Astrological calculations and interpretations returned by the Service are provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. They do not constitute — and must not be presented to your end users as a substitute for — medical, legal, financial, psychological, or other professional advice. You are responsible for making this clear in any product you build on the Service, and for any decisions you or your users make in reliance on astrological content.
6. Subscriptions, billing, and trials
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor, Razorpay, in INR (cards, UPI, netbanking) or USD for international customers. Your subscription renews automatically each billing period until cancelled. Cancellation and refund terms are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms. The free trial requires no payment method and ends after 14 days or 5,000 requests, whichever comes first; after that, API access is paused until you subscribe to a paid plan.
7. Intellectual property
The Service — including its software, documentation, design, and branding — is owned by AstroAsk and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms and your active subscription or trial, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the API and use its responses in your own applications and services. You retain all rights to your applications and to the input data you send to the API. You may not use the AstroAsk name or logo in a way that suggests endorsement without our prior written consent.
8. Availability and changes to the Service
We aim for high availability but the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We may modify, add, or discontinue features, and will use reasonable efforts to give notice of changes that materially reduce the Service’s core functionality.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AstroAsk will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, fail to pay amounts due, or use the Service in a way that creates risk or legal exposure for us — where practical we will notify you and give you an opportunity to cure. On termination, your API keys are deactivated; sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will give reasonable advance notice — for example by email or a notice in the dashboard — before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
