Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information AstroAsk collects when you use the astroask.app website, dashboard, and the astrology API at api.astroask.app, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum we need to run the Service, and we do not sell personal data.

Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address, name, and a password (stored hashed) or your Google sign-in identity. We use this to create and secure your account, issue API keys, and communicate with you about the Service.

API request inputs. Requests to the API may include birth data supplied by you or your end users — dates, times, and geographic coordinates. These inputs are processed transiently to compute the response and are not retained as personal profiles. Request activity is logged in aggregate (endpoint, timestamp, response status, request counts per API key) for quota enforcement, billing, abuse prevention, and debugging.

Usage analytics. We collect standard technical information — such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited — to understand how the website and dashboard are used and to keep the Service secure.

Cookies. We use cookies for session management — keeping you signed in to your dashboard. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Payments are processed by Razorpay. Your card, UPI, and netbanking details are collected and handled directly by Razorpay under its own privacy policy — we never receive or store your full payment instrument details. We retain billing records (plan, amount, invoice, payment status) as required for accounting and tax purposes.

• to enforce plan quotas and rate limits, and to bill subscriptions;
• to communicate with you — service notices, usage alerts, billing emails, and responses to support requests;
• to monitor for abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms of Service;
• to improve the Service using aggregated, de-identified usage patterns.

API usage events are retained for 90 days, after which they are deleted or reduced to aggregate statistics. Account information is kept for as long as your account is active. Billing records are retained for the period required by applicable law. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data except where retention is legally required.

We do not sell personal data. We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service — such as Razorpay for payments and our hosting infrastructure providers — under obligations to protect it, or where required by law, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (in which case this policy continues to apply to data collected before the change).

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS everywhere), hashed credentials, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — please use a strong, unique password and keep your API keys secret.

You can access and update your account information from your dashboard. You may request a copy of your personal data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing intelligence@astroask.app. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.

The Service is a developer product and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 for account purposes. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or a notice in the dashboard before they take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
